GIVE YOUR WEBSITE A CALL !

understanding the basic concept of an Ip address

Funny enough, any page/website online you visited is being called upon. Today, I will be talking more on how to keep records of your phone book and also on how to manage your airtime or browsing plan.

First you have to know is the website (domain Name), this is the name of any website visited.

DOMAIN NAMES

www.allrounda.com.ng is  a Domain Name;
www.google.com is  a Domain Name;
www.facebook.com is a also a Domain Name.

But do we get to know the number stored inside the Domain name ? No
why?? Because it's difficult and pain to the brain trying to remember the numbers associated with a website.
The numbers for the above website or domain names are :

www.allrounda.com.ng  - 5.153.10.227
www.google.com            -74.125.136.113
www.facebook.com        -173.252.120.6

You can check more (here)
*These numbers are called IP address or number

BEAUTY OF A DOMAIN NAME

Now, imagine having to memorize or put 173.252.120.6 into your address URL before visiting www.facebook.com. Pain stacking huh? yeah, I would have dozed off too. So this is the beauty of a domain name. It Saves time and makes it look like you storing some phone number into your phone book.

WHAT IS DOMAIN NAME SERVER & HOW YOU CAN SPEED UP YOUR INTERNET BROWSING WITH IT

Okay, let us recap on what we have discussed so far. Domain name being the Phone book, IP Address is the number stored inside the Phone book. So what is a DNS (Domain Name Server):
"It actually helps in converting a Domain name to an IP address (because this is what the computer understands more)."
 So while the pages to a website is loading, it is actually resolving the IP address of the Domain name or website you enter.

Now, to make things faster and skip DNS the stage. Just type the IP address straight into the URL box and watch how things fly. *smiles* !
